چکیده

Objective: To identify potential flavonoids of Artemisia annua effective against cancer using computationalapproaches.Study Design: Computational approaches were used to predict the anticancer activity throughCDRUG, comparing it with standard drug, followed by determining physiochemical propertiesand toxicity prediction selected flavonoids.Place and Duration Study: The study was carried out at Department Bioinformatics Biosciences ofCapital University Science Technology (CUST) Islamabad, from December 2017 July 2018.Materials Methods: L downloaded computational techniques such as similarity search, prediction, targets identification etc. applied investigate their anti-cancer activities. Results: Luteoline, Cirsilineol, Cirsiliol, Eupatorin, Crisimaritin Artemetin showed positive results among allthe tested flavonoids. These compounds have replace drugs because anti-canceractivity, cells approved agents. Conclusion: screened are good candidate for future be cancer. However, this is an in-silico requiring further laboratory enzymatic assays confirmation, which can done invitro in future.

Can Prostate Specific Antigen Be Used as New Biomarker for Early Diagnosis of Breast Cancer?

Introduction: As a glycoprotein, Plasma Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) is mainly produced by prostate epithelial cells and is used as a major diagnostic tool for prostate cancer. A group of researchers relate the elevated number of estrogen receptors in breast cancer samples to the over-production of PSA in this type of cancer. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the participants' ...

Artemisia annua as a Traditional Herbal Antimalarial

A. annua is so named because it is almost the only member of the genus with an annual cycle. It is a shrub, often growing over 2 m high (Ferreira et al., 1997; see Figure 3.1 and Figure 3.2). Its leaves and flowers contain artemisinin, first isolated in China in 1971; this is the constituent with the greatest antimalarial activity (see Table 3.3). Artemisinin has been found in only two other sp...

Four New Compounds Obtained from Cultured Cells of Artemisia annua.

Four new compounds obtained from cultured cells of Artemisia annua were reported. Products were detected by HPLC-ELSD/GC-MS and isolated by chromatographic methods. The structures of four new compounds, namely 6-hydroxy arteannuin I (1), 1-hydroxy arteannuin I (2), 2-hydroxy arteannuin J (3), and 14-hydroxy arteannuin J (4), were elucidated using their physico-chemical properties by NMR and MS ...

Terpenoid Compounds and Anti- Hemozoin and Anti- Ciliates Protozians Effects of Artemisia annua L. and Chenopodium botrys L.

Background: β-Hematin (Hemozoin) was synthised inside human erythrocyte by malaria parasite. The parasite avoids the toxic effects by polymerizing heme molecules into insoluble crystalline β-Hematin. C. botrys and A. annua used for the treatment of diseases like malaria, hepatitis, cancers, and inflammations. Objective: Determine of antimalarial and anti-protozoa effects of A. anuuae and C. bo...

The Significance of Flavonoids as a Potential Anti-Tuberculosis Compounds

Mycobacterium tuberculosis, an agent of tuberculosis (TB), causes serious health problems such as multi drug resistance (MDR-TB), and extensive drug resistance (XDR-TB). According to WHO, 490,000 cases of MDR-TB and 40,000 cases of XDR-TB occur every year. There are several reasons to investigate a new class of antimicrobial drugs and the flavonoids represent a novel set of possibilities. Flavo...
